Monique, as a bride, was as sweet as a cupcake, while the word swagger is the best description of what the groom Adrian had. We started our day at the hotel where Adrian was and was greeted by his best man. While the groom was getting ready, we shuffled around, getting our detail shots in anticipation of meeting the groom for the very first time. Yup, this was the first time, as he had just flown in and up till that point, we had all our meetings with the Monique. To our relief, he was this very tall and very cool guy that had a very chilled vibe about him. A very clam presence to say the least. She too was a very cool cat, as she was ready and willing to have her day captured without any hesitation and true to life. The most authentic moments are those that show unscripted laughing, crying and raw emotions.
As Christians, their wedding was deeply rooted with traditional significance. Mother Nature provided her backing, as the sun was completely present on this day. Throughout their ceremony and their time in the park with us, they were having so much fun and were bringing much of their very proud of their roots, they certainly piloted their Jamaican culture into every part of their day of matrimony. At one point, the groomsmen were somewhat nervous when we asked them to volunteer one of their own to have Adrian hurdle over them just to have some fun. I think the guys were nervous one of them wonder would split their pants.
Usually the groom takes a bit of time to come out of their shell’s we find in front of the camera, but on this day…not this groom! He was joyous, happy and confident. The moments captured in Gage Park were priceless and it really made for amazing memories for this couple. Their reception was filled with amazing colours, thoughtful speakers and much love.
From their entrance to the cake cutting to the contemporary “shoe game” most couples play in front of their guests testing their knowledge of each other, this was all done with music that injected a very distinct Jamaican vibe.
Thank you, Adrian and Monique, it gives us great pride being asked to be a couple’s storyteller and we are humbled each time we are granted this honour. We hope the pages of your investment in us will be retold for an innumerable span as your love continues to grow!
