It is always an extraordinary moment for us when our storytelling for clients extends us through several special moments during their life, as such is the case with Aaron, Amy and now Ava. Having documented Aaron and Amy’s engagement and wedding, it was so awesome to meet their first child Ava.

Ava was born on December 26, 2018, a surprise to these new parents who were not expecting this bundle of joy until sometime in the new year. Born at 2lbs, 4oz Ava surprised everyone, as we had been chatting with our couple about a maternity session prior to Ava’s arrival. So, the plan altered to a newborn session when the time was right, as being born early meant a small stay in the hospital for mom and baby.

When we met Ava for the first time, she came with this inquisitive look to her, likely wondering who we were and what was that large thing you are pointing at me. As newborn sessions go, Ava was quite compliant with everything being asked of her without too much crying, which can often come with a newborn session. The backdrops and the minimal usage of props were used to enhance the subject, so as not to distract and with this we were able to document the emotions of these first-time parents. 

We were honoured to continue this story for our clients. We say it time and again, children truly are the most fearless and authentic little creatures that we know on planet earth. Know that if you can step into their playground and play according to their rules, you can walk away feeling much accomplishment.
