One of the things we love about delivering on-location lifestyle sessions is that it allows us to enter into our clients lives and document them in a natural setting. For anyone who may have anxiety when it comes to getting in front of the camera being at home can bring a significant level of comfort and it allows for a much truer session where their lifestyle is exceptionally recorded.
When we met Julie and her family for their session, they were a few inquisitive looks as to what they needed to do. As we often do in these situations, we ask our clients to engage in what a day in their life looks like, we are there to capture it and use our creative imagery to highlight these moments. As we engaged this family in their high stakes game of Clue, the murder mystery board game, they quickly adjusted to our presence and the true them emerged.
One of the characteristics of this family that quickly became apparent was there sense of togetherness. As we chatted, they told us of this time carved out each week for them to turn devices off, sit together and just enjoy a good old fashion board game with the family. As discussion among them picked up, we listened to stories from this hockey family about upcoming games and recent victories and it was evident how important this activity is to them and, for us, it told us how important of a memory this was for them to have encapsulated.
Many things come and go, memories last forever. The investment into documenting a family’s life is an important one and it simple is done best when they are able to be captured naturally. The time spent with family was amazing and we were able to really authentically tell their story, which is what we pride ourselves in doing for all of our clients.
