“I loved her against reason,
against promise,
against peace,
against hope,
against happiness,
against all discouragement that could be.”
~ Charles Dickens, Great Expectations
The Great Expectations is the story of poor falling in love with rich, a bride being left at the altar. For this bride life stands still, table set, cake remaining tasty as she waits for the return of her groom, refusing to accept the reality of what has altered her life forever.
Our stylized shoot was created around this story, with one twist, love. Love does exist for all and there is a place for each of us where we will be loved by another for eternity. We highly anticipate this moment and this life with this unknown person. For some, their real love is found quite early on in life and their search ends quickly. For others, we are left wondering when it will come? In the Great Expectations story she moves from wedding to despair, our shoot is themed around the reverse. Our bride moves not into despair, but into hope and love, from black to white. She imagines what her table will look like, what she will be wearing when she gives herself to her eternal mate.
