Meet Krisalein. We have been documenting Kris see she was a small child. We have had the opportunity to watch her bloom into this lovely young lady and it was fantabulous to carry on with telling her compelling story. Typically, it is at the age of fourteen when a young person goes through the confirmation process in the Catholic Church.
When I first started documenting Kris, she was little and quite spirited and lively when she came in for her sessions with me. Often my first thought before having her come in with Mom and Dad was to bolt everything down, as many kids are curious and want to experience everything around. After all, don’t most kids just want to touch everything?! She often was not keen on sitting comfortably through sessions the way Laura and John Rey would have liked. So, one day I decided to let her be her and I would document that, good, bad and the in-betweens. Documentary with a mix of stylized portraits is where we thrive, and it delivers transparency into the soul of the subject being chronicled.
As we have watched her flourish, she continues to be the original rebel! We are certain that she has given her parents a grey hair or two. What has been established is that her personality is uniquely hers and it is that trait that allows her to put an extra punch into her imagery. As she makes headway and develops her own passageway through life, we look forward to documenting her significant milestone moments, as we did with her confirmation. To see more of the fun we had, take a moment and see her VLOG as well.
