When spring pops in we are reminded that we need to take restock of our life, dust off the old, and hit refresh in the different arteries, if that makes any sense. A stylized shoot for creative portraits. Simple and elegant can never be undone. But somehow a little “je ne sais quoi”, as the french would say it, completes this amazing stylized shoot.
The inspiration for this shoot is a continuation from a series of the seasons, following fall and winter. Inspired by nature and filled by life’s little bits should I say. Being an artist first puts me in tune with finding all the little bits (props) for shoots. The snail shell and the bird nest all were things that were found in nature. The butterfly wings, eggs and flower pettles came with ease, as my finely tuned radar was on the look out. All of this comes together when you find that perfect model to carry your vision to term.
This time last year my family and I were under an abnormal amount of stress, as my Thathi (Dad) was running in and out of hospitals so much so that we were fairly familiar the geography of the hospital and the staff, more familiar than should normally be required. His fight to live ended in May. It is so surreal that even now I feel his presence so strongly despite the fact that he is gone.
In summarizing everything that is rattling inside my head, spring is back and is inspiring me. This breath of fresh air has me getting back to the craft I know and love, which in turn feeds our business. I hope this will also breath inspiration into your life and your activities and allows you to find inspiration as well to create.
