If autumn had its portrait taken, we imagine it would a look a little like this you see below. She is timeless and super sassy as she struts into town. She flaunts her colours, casts a spell and, little do we know, we are smitten with her and all the things that fall brings with it. She bats her beautiful butterfly gold lashes, adorned with real maple leaves.
Working with clients on these themed sessions is quite journey. We begin with a shared common vision and after some prepping that includes hair, makeup, and wardrobe we prepare to step into another world and the process begins. As important as the final image, the process is just as important to us, which is why we love our bonding time with clients as we begin to transform them from a concept into reality.
The goal during this session was to really capture the unique time of year that follows summer and precedes winter, the season of fall. During fall, the environment around us changes as leaves change colour and eventually fall from the tree as the world braces for much colder temperatures that are to come. As the change of seasons happens, it is a lost opportunity if we do not take it all in and really appreciate the beauty of this season.
Throughout the creative process I try not to put any pressure on getting to the final product, as I always trust that with the appropriate amount of time the vision will reveal itself. Much like our Corpse Bride session inspired our love of creativity, this session really was an accumulation of my appreciation of fall season and all the beauty it uses to inspire me and my vision.
